If you’ve noticed that your helmet’s lighting or smart lights change unexpectedly, it’s likely due to the Weather Monitoring Feature. This feature automatically adjusts the lighting based on current weather conditions or time of day, which can override your manual settings.
Here’s a breakdown of how this works and how to adjust it if you want to maintain control over your lighting presets.
How to Turn Off Weather Monitoring
To prevent the automatic changes and maintain your manual lighting presets, you can turn off the weather monitoring feature. Here’s how to do it:
-
Go to Your Profile:
- Open the helmet’s companion app and navigate to your profile.
-
Access Preferences:
- Under your profile settings, find the section labeled Preferences.
-
Select Weather Monitoring:
- Inside Preferences, locate the Weather Monitoring option.
-
Disable Weather or Daytime Mode:
- You'll see two sides to monitoring: Weather Mode and Daytime Mode. You can toggle these off to prevent your lights from reacting to weather or sunlight.
By turning off these features, your helmet will stop making automatic adjustments, and your preset lighting will remain constant. When you do want those automatic adjustments, simply select the features you prefer, and Weather Mode will apply them for you automatically.
How Weather Monitoring Affects Lighting
When weather monitoring is enabled, your helmet's lights will automatically adapt to the weather and lighting conditions, ensuring maximum visibility and safety. Here's how it works:
- Rain or Fog: In poor weather conditions (like heavy rain or fog), the helmet automatically switches to Ultra High Visibility Mode. All lights will be set to their brightest to make sure you're clearly visible to others.
- Daylight: The helmet can also change lighting based on daylight. In this case, it has three modes:
- Nothing: No reaction to sunlight. The lights remain as you set them.
- No Light: Turns off the lights but keeps crash alert systems active.
- Flashing Lights: Enables flashing lights for maximum daytime visibility.
This system is designed to keep you safe, but if you prefer to keep your lighting settings unchanged, you can disable weather monitoring.
Detailed Functionality of Daytime and Weather Modes
To clarify how these modes work:
Daytime Mode:
- Operates using the helmet’s built-in light sensor.
- If you own both the helmet and smart lights, both devices will adjust when this mode is active.
- Note: If you only have the smart lights (without the helmet), this mode does not apply.
Weather Mode:
- Functions through the app, which checks the weather conditions based on your GPS coordinates.
- Applies to all connected devices.
Tip: Configure these modes through Settings > Preferences > Monitoring in the app, and activate them using the Monitoring Button on the home screen.
