1. Update the UNIT 1 app and your helmet
Make sure you have UNIT 1 app version 3.8.0 or later installed.
Then, open the app and complete any available software update for your helmet. You can check that your helmet is running the latest software by going to:
Settings → Device → Software Updates
The status should show “Up to date.”
2. Check that your eBike is compatible
This feature is available for eBikes equipped with the smart system from Bosch.
You can identify a compatible system if your bike includes one of the following components:
LED Remote
System Controller
Purion 200
Kiox 300 / 500
Kiox 400C
⚠️ eBikes using Bosch eBike System 2 are not supported.
3. Update your eBike system
Make sure the smart system from Bosch is running the latest available firmware before continuing with the setup.
4. Add your UNIT 1 helmet through the eBike Flow app from Bosch
Open the official eBike Flow app from Bosch and follow the instructions to add your UNIT 1 helmet.

5. Complete the setup
Once your helmet recognizes the smart system from Bosch, the feature becomes active immediately.
The UNIT 1 app will detect the change automatically and update the experience accordingly.
Good to know
Before starting any update, make sure your helmet is charged, powered on, and nearby.
Keep the helmet turned on throughout the entire update process. Do not turn it off until the update is complete.
You do not need to remove your helmet from the UNIT 1 app or reinstall either app.
