How do you set up and use the crash alert feature in the UNIT 1 App?

All UNIT 1 helmets include a crash alert feature that works through the app. If a hard crash is detected, the app starts a safety check countdown. If you don’t respond in time, an SOS text is sent to your emergency contact, including your location.

Setting up crash alert

1. Add an emergency contact

   • Open the app and tap the center button to access contacts.
   • Ensure the app has permission to access your phone contacts.
   • Select a contact (without emojis or special characters in the name) and their phone number, then tap “Save.”

2. Enable automatic activation

   • Choose whether crash alert activates automatically when the app is open during your ride.
   • If disabled, you’ll need to manually activate crash alert before each ride.

3. Set the countdown timer

   • After a crash is detected, a timer appears, giving you a chance to cancel the alert before an SOS message is sent.
   • Options include 15 seconds, 1 minute, or 4 minutes.
   • Adjust this in Profile > Settings > Crash Alert.
