Short answer: This is expected. When the Bosch integration is active, turn signal and brake light settings are locked to preset values. To customize them again, you'd use the helmet without the Bosch integration.
If your turn signal and/or brake light settings are greyed out after connecting to your Bosch eBike, nothing is broken — this is how the integration is designed to work
.
To allow the helmet and bike to work together, the integration uses a customized firmware mode that fixes certain settings.
For safety reasons, the remote uses fixed settings based on standard bike settings and cannot be customized. It brings these values by default:
Turn Signals
Animation: Blinker - Duration: 10 seconds
Brake Lights
Animation: Solid - Sensitivity: Medium
What are my options?
Keep the Bosch integration → your turn signal and brake light settings stay at the preset values, and you can't customize them.
Use your helmet in the standard UNIT 1 setup instead (without the Bosch integration) → you get full control over all your settings through the UNIT 1 app and Remote, but you lose the Bosch-specific features.
